Creating a distinct identity for arts education and learning

Learn with Boroondara Arts was developed to encourage young people to engage with Council's arts and cultural programs, build future audiences and provide learning opportunities for people of all ages.

The challenge was to create a recognisable visual identity for the program that complemented the existing Boroondara Arts brand, while establishing a distinct look and feel to differentiate its educational offering from broader arts communications.

Building on the established Boroondara Arts brand, I developed a distinct visual identity for Learn that incorporated the master brand’s concept of ‘framing the conversation’ through outlined boxes and a simple black and white colour palette.

The creative direction centred on a distinctive ‘Learn’ roundel and notepaper-inspired backgrounds, reinforcing the themes of education, creativity and discovery. Campaign-specific accent colours introduced flexibility, allowing individual programs and activities to develop their own character while maintaining a consistent visual identity.

The result is a bold, dynamic and adaptable identity system that maintains a clear connection to Boroondara Arts while giving its learning programs a recognisable presence across print, web and digital communications.
